Chopping it Off

When it comes to my hair, I am a huge chicken.  It was a huge deal when I decided to get bangs 4 years ago and my hair cut since then has been the exact same.  My hair stylist doesn’t even really have to ask what I want because she knows it already.  But for the first time ever, I kind of feel like I want to chop it off.  I wouldn’t go full on Rosemary’s Baby.  I’m thinking more Emma Stone at the 2015 Golden Globes.  Because we all know my goal in life is to be her.

So the big issue here is that I would possibly have to start blow drying my hair in the morning.  Which is basically an impossibility.  But maybe since my hair is an awkward wavy not quite curly consistency, the cut would actually work well for it??  What do you guys think?  Would a long bob be more or less maintenance intensive?  And would I look like Emma Stone?  Or like a chipmunk?

Oh man, so cute!!! I’m the same way with my hair so I completely understand. My hair has been this length, basically same style, for about 10 years. I often think of doing something fancy and then think I’ll be sad and miss my long hair. But I say go for it! I think it will be so sassy.

      Thanks Tay!

Oh man, you would look better than Emma Stone. You would look amazing no matter what you do. I hope you decide to keep a little side rat tail like in that 3rd photo though. Im even down with you waking me up with the hair blower in the morning.

Thanks babe. The rat tail might not be happening though.

I love this style. I have a similar hair type as you it sounds: not quite curly, definitely not straight. I just never know how to get my waves to look so perfectly imperfect. Mine just look messy if I don’t do anything to them! Good luck and go for it! I bet it will be gorgeous.

Thanks Erin! Mine look pretty messy too. Pretty much all the time.

I saw your Pins and was wondering if you were thinking about going for this! I think you should do it! I LOVED my lob, but the downside is I did have to style it I also missed my top knot. Just make sure you keep it trimmed above your shoulders regularly or it starts to do weird flippy things, so you have to go more than my standard once every year or so. I feel like with your hair you might not have to do as much styling as just scrunching to promote texture and waves. Do it!!! A good chop feels so good!

Thanks Linds! I think I’m gonna do it! I will probably need some tips from you when I get the guts to do it.

    go for it!

Ok, I am a huge long hair fan. I go through periods where I have it long for 3 years and then I chop it off, grow it back out, lather, rinse, repeat! However, when I suddenly talk myself into cutting it I always say, if I hate it I can always grow it back. Hair is one of those things in life you can always go back to! So I say DO IT! You may hate it for the first week ( I always do) but then it’s cool and you can keep it or grow it!

I say do it! I don’t color my hair, so haircuts are my chance to add some sudden drama to my hair! Also, your hair is long enough that if you want to, you can donate it, which is always a bonus in my book! However do your research — Locks of love is not the only organization that accepts hair donations and they’ve had some controversy. So check out Wigs for Kids, Pantene Beautiful Lengths, etc.
