Painting Progress

Some of you may remember me discussing choosing a paint color for the exterior of my house in this post.  Well, this weekend I started painting.  As I originally suspected, painting a house is not the most delightful activity I have ever participated in. I also anticipate that this sucker won’t be finished until at least the end of October.  So far we have only painted part of the back because we are kind of waiting for approval from the HOA on the color I chose.  Oops.  At this point I am regretting asking them because I am kind of in love with the color and may be totally heartbroken if they tell me no.  I should have just done it and I doubt anyone would have noticed.  C’est la vie.  I ended up choosing Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue just like I thought I would.  Fingers crossed people.  Anyways, I spent all day on Friday power washing it with the help of my dad.  Power washing is entirely enjoyable and quite satisfying for about the first two hours.  After that it pretty much just makes you want a nap.  And probably a cocktail.  I wish I had taken before and after pictures of my sidewalk because holy cow did it make a big difference.  Power washing works really well.  Really well.  Then Saturday we decided to start playing around with painting the back which is hidden by a fence just in case we broke my house.  Which was definitely a possibility.  Luckily, my house did not break.  In fact the part that we painted looks like a shiny heaven angel penny.  At least to me.  We will see what the homeowners say.
