For the Love of Friday

For the Love of Friday – Spring Ready

I can fake being an adult at a lot of things.  I can bake things, clean things (sometimes), go to the bank, and I even did our taxes this year (which I really feel like I should get some awards for).  However, one adult thing that completely boggles my mind is yardwork.  I just really don’t know how to do any of it.  Seeding, mowing, and weeding are all pretty lost on me.  Combining this fact with the ridiculous guilt I feel whenever I let anyone or anything down makes me pretty darn nervous for the season that is upon us.  We have quite a lovely lawn, with nicely trimmed bushes and assorted flowers including some roses (I don’t know the first thing to do with a rose !) and I don’t wanna screw it up.  I actually called my parents a couple of weeks ago and said “there are flowers in my yard and I’m scared.”  We have big plans for them to tutor me in hopes that my black thumb doesn’t completely ruin my yard.  Although my plants (below) seem spring ready, I am not quite sure that I am.  Do you guys have any “grown up” things that you are particularly terrified of?

You should get a gardening book at the hardware store, it has helped me a lot with my lawn which is way out of my league to begin with! Looks like you have some really pretty stuff :o)

Be very scared. Of the weeds. They are gonna come and come and they will never stop coming. And you will have nightmares. It’s so bad.

Thanks MRSMAC! I will have to try that! I know Meg. I know. Terrible situation.

Ooo you do have some pretties! I’m no good at gardening either. Good luck my dear. I’m sure it’ll all turn out lovely.
