I can fake being an adult at a lot of things. Â I can bake things, clean things (sometimes), go to the bank, and I even did our taxes this year (which I really feel like I should get some awards for). Â However, one adult thing that completely boggles my mind is yardwork. Â I just really don’t know how to do any of it. Â Seeding, mowing, and weeding are all pretty lost on me. Â Combining this fact with the ridiculous guilt I feel whenever I let anyone or anything down makes me pretty darn nervous for the season that is upon us. Â We have quite a lovely lawn, with nicely trimmed bushes and assorted flowers including some roses (I don’t know the first thing to do with a rose !) and I don’t wanna screw it up. Â I actually called my parents a couple of weeks ago and said “there are flowers in my yard and I’m scared.” Â We have big plans for them to tutor me in hopes that my black thumb doesn’t completely ruin my yard. Â Although my plants (below) seem spring ready, I am not quite sure that I am. Â Do you guys have any “grown up” things that you are particularly terrified of?
You should get a gardening book at the hardware store, it has helped me a lot with my lawn which is way out of my league to begin with! Looks like you have some really pretty stuff :o)
Be very scared. Of the weeds. They are gonna come and come and they will never stop coming. And you will have nightmares. It’s so bad.
Thanks MRSMAC! I will have to try that! I know Meg. I know. Terrible situation.
Ooo you do have some pretties! I’m no good at gardening either. Good luck my dear. I’m sure it’ll all turn out lovely.
