I don’t know if you guys knew this about us, but before last friday, Meg and I had the worst phones in the country. Â I know you are thinking that I must be exaggerating but I am certainly not. Â My phone was a flip phone that barely called people (seriously, it would dial Matthew when I tried to call Sarah) and Megan’s was the slowest Blackberry ever. Â Like it would take an hour to google something. Â Well my friends, we are finally in with the cool kids, as we are now both proud owners of iPhone 5’s. Â So we will be on the brink of technology for approximately 5 days until Apple puts out another new must have product. Â After opening our brand new shiny phones, we realized that there is a bit of a dilemna in the world of iPhone cases. Â Since I will obviously be dropping mine tomorrow, a case is a must asap. Â However, all of the cases in the world are either gorgeous but offer barely any actual protection (see the beauties below from Society 6) or are foolproof-you can-take-your-phone-scuba diving (not really, don’t do this) and are well pretty much ugly. Â I know all of you people have iphones and therefore iphone cases. Â What are you guys using? Â What do you recommend?
Such a battle… I’m one for pretty, but somewhat protective. If the “bookends” of the phone aren’t covered (you know how some cases don’t full wrap the edges) then I wont go for it. You could always do one of the rubbery cases that way if you drop it there’s a little more cushion.
I don’t think those giant protective cases are necessary, and I have dropped my iPhone several times and lived to tell the tale. I went with the rubbery kind that sort of hug all the way around the phone, and then a screen protector sticker thing. It’s not as pretty as the pretty ones, obviously, but you can still find an interesting color or design in the rubber ones that won’t make your phone a million pounds or so bulky that it won’t fit in your pocket.
Welcome to iPhone! I was so happy to see you both on instagram!
Look into casemate too. They are just as protective as Otterbox, but are super adorable and customizable. Also, check out Etsy for some cute cases too!
Um, hello, am I not “talking to” two of the more creative people in my acquaintance?!?! What about getting a “sturdy” case in white and crafting it up to be pretty, then shellacking (or similar) the heck out of the design to seal the pretty deal? 🙂
Sincerely,
A Droid user with an ugly case
Take my advice with a grain of salt…but I have a Kate Spade hardshell case and I have dropped my phone A LOT! So far, so good 🙂 My case is a little on the mangled side though… p.s. welcome to the cool kids club 😉 XO brynn
Thanks for all of your help everyone! I decided to go with a Society 6 one because apparently they improved the protection on them for the newest ones. I am super excited about it.
I have this case and love it. It gives a little protection if you drop it but not so much that you are carrying around a foam brick. Plus its pretty 🙂
