Believe it or not, I wasn’t originally planning on throwing Corey a party for his 30th birthday. Â His big birthday present is a trip to New York at the end of July to see his favorite soccer team. Â But then I thought about it, and I decided I would feel like a bit of a jerk if I didn’t have some kind of group gathering for him. Â Instead of throwing it at our house and going crazy with decorations like I normally do, I decided to make it at a local bar called VBGB Beer Garden (which means that there are a lot of beer options, but not actually a garden I don’t think)Â and make it a surprise! Â Spoiler alert, it wasn’t a surprise. Â Because I am a bad liar, and because he automatically assumed that I was going to throw him a party anyway. Â Oh well. Â We still had a great time with all of our lovely friends.
I kept things simple with some easy cupcake toppers (download here –Â Birthday Cupcake Toppers) and candle centerpieces using some printables from Oh Happy Day. Â I made the cupcakes using this recipe and Megan finished off with the frosting using the same chocolate buttercream from last year. Â I can vouch for the deliciousness. Â Many thanks to Megan for setting things up so I could bring the birthday boy late. Â She’s a gem that one.
you know you’re a party pro when you can throw something like this together!!! happy 30th corey!!!!
