Black or Blue in the Bedroom

For a while there, we were painting rooms like madmen.  We finished the entire downstairs and stairway before Corey and I got tired and decided to take a little break.  Well I am finally ready to get back in action, mostly because the second floor is embarrassingly barren and I want it to stop being ugly all the time.  Our bedroom is pretty large so I am still kind of putting that off, but the guest bedroom seems to be a perfectly manageable size.  Since I am planning on going white in the master, I wanted to do something a little more fun in the guest bedroom.  I am switching back and forth between black and a deep blue and just can’t make up my mind.  Black seems fun and although it is everywhere in the design world, I think it is a little more unexpected.  Exhibit A, when I went to buy some samples of black paint at the hardware store, the cashier gave me a major side eye when I told her I was considering painting a bedroom black.  I think it could really be lovely with some feminine touches.  Blue seems maybe a little cozier, obviously adding more color to the room.  What do you guys think?

I’m a fan of blue (obviously you can tell from my house), but I do think the black could be unexpected and anything you have a hand in will turn out beautiful!

I personally would LOVE to stay in a black (or really really dark charcoal) room. With some awesome eclectic vintage art and some gold baroque accents it would just scream cozy glamour.

If you were choosing wallpaper, I’d say go safe … but it’s just cheap paint! Go as dark as you dare! (because you can always prime it and paint it beige later, ha)

Great ideas! I like the blue and white better for the bedroom. Blue feels much warmer; black feels more formal. Just my ideas.
    Happy New Year!
